Oklahoma Legislators Rated
By Constitution Staff
The Oklahoma Constitution newspaper's 2014 Oklahoma Conservative Index rating state legislators is now available. Members of each house of the Oklahoma Legislature were rated on ten key votes to provide their conservative rating. The legislators were rated based on their votes on bills such as Repeal of Common Core, Income Tax Cuts, Bonds for Renovation of the Capitol, Abortion Facility Standards, and government subsidies. Eight legislators (six in the House and two in the Senate) received perfect 100% ratings: Rep. David Brumbaugh (R-Broken Arrow), Rep. Dan Fisher (R-El Reno), Rep. Sally Kern (R-Oklahoma City), Rep. Jason Murphey (R-Guthrie), Rep. Mike Ritze (R-Broken Arrow), Rep. Mike Turner (R-Oklahoma City), Sen. Bill Brown (R-Broken Arrow), and Sen. Nathan Dahm (R-Broken Arrow). The ratings will be published in the newspaper's summer edition in July, but is available online now. Click on "How Conservative is Your Legislator?" in the upper right of this web page for the details on the bills used and how each legislator scored.
